– Homeland security’s role in bioterrorism
– How effective is Homeland Security (in terms of protecting the United States in a bioterrorism attack and security wise)
– Currect tactics (to ensure resilience to disasters caused by bioterrorism
– Policy implications and or potential solutions
– Conclusion
Paper Topic Prompt:
For my final paper I will be discussing the role of law enforcement, specifically homeland security, in preventing bioterrrorism. How does our country plan to protect the nation from bioterrorism when it doesn’t emphasize how fatal this area of terrorism is. Our countries law enforcement agencies are responsible for enforcing laws, maintainging public order, and managing public safety but where does this come into play with bioterrorism. The Department of Homeland Security has been noted for its significant progress in its mission area of preventing terrorism; and ensuring resiliance to disasters such as preventing terrorism. My paper will work to investigate how homeland security operates in protecting the nation from bioterrorism, is it effective as well as reliable? The first part will focus on what bioterrorism is and the advancements that have been made.
