Instructions:
This discussion paper is intended to be an opportunity for you to develop your ability to identify, synthesize, and critique information you were assigned to read this week. You are also expected to effectively utilize the mechanics of writing to clearly convey your thoughts.
After reading the above listed article and conducting additional research, you will write up your impression of the reading according to the following four-point structure:
Brief summary
What ideas stood out to you as relating to the other material discussed in class and presented in the book?
What is the significance of these ideas to you?
Do you think this article increases our understanding of financial markets/institutions and if so, how?
I will not accept that this article increases our understanding because it “will help us prevent another financial crisis” or anything to that affect. There must be more thought involved in how the topics covered in the paper increases your understanding.
Please note: For those ideas that stood out to you, conduct further research and discuss how that particular topic furthers your understanding. The expectation is that you research and incorporate materials not covered in this class. Reference at least two additional academic articles in your discussion paper. This is essential for an “A” grade. If no other resources are cited and incorporated, then the maximum grade that can be earned is a “B”.
Utilize the UNT Library to find additional academic articles
