Assignment Details
The test blueprint assists the nurse educator with developing a test that addresses all concepts that are taught, as well as assesses concept comprehension based on the appropriate level of Bloom’s taxonomy. Rubrics, on the other hand, outline the specific criteria that are to be addressed in each assignment. Both student and educator benefit from a rubric because it not only assists the student with delivering a quality assignment, it also helps the educator grade objectively based on outlined criteria. Both a blueprint and a rubric are essential to ensuring that an adequate assessment of knowledge takes place.
Develop a test blueprint for a final test for a course in a specific program level, addressing the following:
Choose 1 of the following:
Course in a prelicensure associate degree program
Course in an RN-BSN program
Course in an MSN program
Hypothetically, the test would consist of a total of 100 questions and would assess delivered content for 6 objectives.
Use this Test Blueprint Template, and develop 6 objectives that the test is measuring (these can be the course objectives or the objectives specific to the final exam). Please be sure that the appropriate level of Bloom’s is used based on program level.
Once the objectives are developed, propose the number of questions that you would ask under each level (you do not need to write the questions, but just propose the number of questions under each Bloom’s level based on program level). Remember that the number of questions and percent should add up to 100. Provide a rationale for the level of Bloom’s you chose to assess your program level.
Lastly, create a 100-point rubric based on a proposed assignment for the same course.
