Your goal in this activity is to visit a Health Information Management (HIM) department or service and interview a HIM professional to view firsthand the function of an HIM department or service. This interview will be conducted at a health information department or services of a hospital, skilled nursing facility or large multi-specialty clinic (or any site or organization handling confidential patient records).
As you work to set up your HIM Professional Interview, think outside the box. Below is a list of possible department or service settings within the HIM field.
