COM 252 – Film Analysis Assignment Details
Hello, COM 252 students.
While the film analysis assignment is not due for a couple more weeks, I am sending out the instructions now to clarify any questions and give you plenty of time to complete the assignment. Please read over the detailed instructions within Blackboard before beginning work on the task. I hope you enjoy the film. It displays a vast amount of detail that we have been learning about within this course. The human communication processes are clear and how relationships are strengthened or lessened all by communication within the film. So go ahead and a grab a bag of popcorn, a notepad with a pen to take notes and observations, and get comfortable while doing this task.
Here are the instructions:
To complete the film analysis assignment, you are to view and analyze the film, The Blind Side. After watching the entire film, you must be able to recognize at least seven of the interpersonal communication concepts displayed within the movie that we have discussed throughout the course. You are not to just briefly mention the concepts; instead, you must describe each concept in detail as it correlates to the film (approximately 16 lines per paragraph for each concept to earn full points). Each concept relating to a scene is a new paragraph. In addition, when you name each communication concept, list the section/page number to support your statements/findings, and also fully define the concept as well with the eBook.
To recap, you are to clearly tie a communication concept to a scene or part of the film you are referring to. You should repeat this process for all seven concepts for a total of seven paragraphs (one concept per paragraph). Note: Do not use the same scene or concept more than once. This assignment will reveal what you have learned about Interpersonal Communication, so describe the communication concepts and the correlation to the scenes in detail and in depth.
The document should be typed in Microsoft Word using Times New Roman, 12 point font, single-spaced, and 1” margins. The task is worth 200 points and is due by the indicated date in the syllabus. Take your time with this assignment given it is a large part of your overall grade. It is a great tip to take notes while you watch this film.
The assignment is due no later than Sunday, July 24 at midnight.
The film can be located on Amazon Prime, Netflix, or the college library. You may even contact your local library to see if it is available to check out as well for free.
