The 3 Cs of diversity management presented in chapter 9 provide a basic blueprint for diversifying an organization in a healthy and sustainable way. However, for many organizations, the most difficult aspect of the 3Cs is “composition,” in that many organizations, even if they are well-intentioned, experience difficulty recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce. The difficulty in recruiting and retaining diverse employees could stem from a number of different factors (e.g., geography, the nature of the work, etc.). For this discussion, I would like for your group to develop a plan for organizations that struggle to hire and retain talented, diverse employees. What things could be done to make organizations lacking in diversity more appealing to prospective diversity hires?
